Workshop description

Ruby Purple ® Mixed Media workshop - creating an abstract artwork on canvas with acrylic paint and mixed media. Suitable for beginner, intermediate or advanced Ruby offers workshops that focus on encouraging your expressive ability in a relaxed atmosphere where she will walk you through creating an abstract artwork. Join Ruby to create an abstract canvas. While using a variety of mediums you’ll explore the creative process to plan and make a mixed media artwork. Using a combination of observation and experimentation Ruby will guide you step by step, so no experience is needed, and share her techniques, knowledge and enthusiasm. What’s in Ruby’s Intro to mixed media workshop? Lots of Mixed Media! What’s Mixed Media - a combination of different materials used in assemblage of an artwork. Learn techniques in layering handmade and recycled papers, cardboard, sand, texture pastes and more to have some fun, explore and experiment. Ruby will take you through the abstraction and creation process step by step. With each form of media creating a unique texture, Ruby will show you how to use these differences to balance the artistic process and result of your artwork. If you’d like to include something unique in your mixed media creation, bring that along eg: paperbark, dried grass, seeds, leaves, dried flowers. What you can bring: - your enthusiasm - paint if you have your own or Ruby will supply student quality paints - whatever types of special media you would like to include in your artwork like paper, dried grasses or seeds - Workshopit can supply an apron to use during the workshop or you can wear an old shirt If you like to create, or would like to have some fun and experiment with something new, book into Ruby’s mixed media workshop and bring your creativity to life! Who is Ruby Purple ® "For as long as I remember I’ve interpreted what I see into shapes, colours, patterns and impressions, so it’s no surprise I became an Abstract Artist. I aim to create interest, intrigue, and mindfulness of our natural world, and allow the viewer to connect and interpret my art in their own way." Follow What’s Ruby doing?
